Archie Archie has been involved in the publishing business for more than 20 years. He started his career as a newspaper journalist, rising rapidly to become one of the youngest news editors of a mainstream daily newspaper. Since then, he has edited or published numerous books and magazines, and currently runs his own custom print and web publishing studio, A Type of Magic. Archie is presently Editor of two magazines - Vaughan, Ontario-based Whatever (readership 200,000+ and leading inspirational publication Confidence Bound. He also edits and co-publishes the best-selling travel book series, The Visitor's Complete Guide.
Cheryl Antao-Xavier, Literary Editor Her first book Dance of the Peacock: A Collection of Poems was released in May 2008 and she has a series of multicultural children's storybooks simmering nicely on a back burner in her creative mind. Bubbling away on the front burners are book projects of amazing playwrights, poets and artists that will be ready for the bookshelves from November 2008 onwards. These will be published by her company In Our Words, in collaboration with A Type of Magic. Cheryl believes: when you do what you love, with good intent, nothing else matters.
Frederick Rocque, Editor-At-Large A volunteer copy editor and member of the Editors' Association of Canada (EAC), Fred is a regular contributor to various publications. He enjoys digital photography and is a keen web-design enthusiast. Fred volunteers as a web developer / content advisor. He also hosts and manages several web sites.
Maria Meindl, Honorary Editor
Maria is one of the organizers of Draft, a quarterly reading series now in its fourth season which features new and unpublished work by established and emerging writers. A Feldenkrais practitioner, she teaches movement and writing classes in the east end of Toronto.
She is currently working on her second collection, due to be published in 2009, which will include the best of her photography as well. |
