Lyrics and vocals by Moira Nelson ![]() Pale as a dream of winter Within crystal chamber Sand petals fall through eternity Measuring hours In the glass of the lady Whose tears are of silver And smiles whispered gold. Now she’s young Now she’s spiders-web old And is watching Through dragonfly wings Shadow morning. And wordless the emptiness, endlessness Outside her eyes Knowing legends Of flowers and of snows and of loving While sand petals fall through eternity Measuring hours. • This song by Moira Nelson actually started off as a poem. The arrangement is on her second CD, After the Fall, released in 2001, and features Elena Jubinville on cello with Moira singing and playing guitar. All three of Moira Nelson's CDs are available at L'Atelier Grigorian in Oakville (905-338-2360) and Birds and Beans in Etobicoke (416-913-9221).
