By Honey Novick Be careful what you wish for Those wishes might come true The terror of success Could be daunting for you Success has responsibility Attached to its name Standing up, above the crowd Means destiny, fortune and fame The tallest poppy, like success, Is a target cause of its beauty. Knives looming, cut it down Life sacrificed in the line of duty. Be careful what you wish for You just might get it Love, happiness, friendship and trust Come. Are you prepared to let it? Be careful of expectations, They often bring the surprise Of courage, strength, patience, persistence, Which blossom into your deepest allies. • Honey Novick is a singer/songwriter/voice teacher/poet. She is the daughter of the man who was last person in the city of Toronto to deliver milk with a horse and wagon. Her mother was a 4'10'' feisty feminist who created the word before anyone imagined what feminism was. Honey Novick is the song facilitator for Sheena's Place, Body-at-Play, the literary director of ARTWALK, creative director of WOMANVOICE and almost weekly guest singer with Ellington's Jam Band. |
