| Planting Anew |

POETRY | By Cheryl Antao-Xavier
This Spring
I will plough deep
Rooting out the rot
That lurks beneath
The façade of propriety.
Planting new seeds
In fruitful soil
To burgeon wholesome, expectant
Bursting with goodness
When the time comes to reap.
This Spring
I will clean deep
Pruning all but what I need
Keeping only that
Which matches the outer persona
With the ideals in my head.
This Spring
There will be
A fresh beginning.
