| Retrospection of Life |

Today, as I look back,
I see a colorful spread of life’s incidents,
Just like a rainbow with its varied hues,
Some wishes fulfilled & some still dues,
The ones that stand out are certainly no accidents.
Somewhere a little girl was taking her first steps,
Little knowing the upheavals in store,
Lisping her way thru the A-B-Cee’s,
Her toothless grin & squealing yelps,
Filled the atmosphere with delight galore,
When praised by the people come there to see.
Troubled teens was a time of all “why’s & why me’s”,
Wanting to run & be free,
Full of self pride & a paranoid eye,
Unable to tell the difference, between a moth & a butterfly.
Then came the rose tinted glasses,
With love outpouring on the wee one,
A few major battles & tiny little clashes
And lo & behold we are back to square one.
Only this time the little girl was in my home,
Taking her first steps with cool aplomb.
